What this covers
This policy covers payments made to TheRankHQ for services: search work, websites, content, digital PR and anything else quoted in a proposal. Where a signed contract says something different, the contract applies.
Cancelling
- Monthly retainers. Either of us may end the arrangement with 30 days written notice. You pay for the notice period, and we finish the work in it rather than downing tools.
- Fixed-price projects. You may cancel at any point. We invoice for the stages completed and for work in progress at the point you tell us, and we stop.
What is refundable
- Work not yet started. If you cancel before we begin, you are refunded in full, less any third-party cost we have already paid on your behalf.
- Work delivered. Not refundable, because it cannot be returned. If it is not what we agreed, tell us and we will put it right.
What is not refundable
Money we have already spent for you does not come back to us, so it cannot come back to you: paid placements and publisher fees, advertising spend, domains, licences, stock assets, and third-party subscriptions bought in your name. The deposit on a fixed-price project reserves the team's time and is not refundable once the work is scheduled.
Asking for a refund
Write to info@therankhq.com from the address on the invoice, quoting the invoice number and what you are asking to be refunded. We reply within 3 business days and, where a refund is due, approve or explain in writing.
How long it takes
Approved refunds go back to the method you paid with, within 7 to 10 business days. How quickly it appears after that is up to your bank or card issuer. Bank charges and currency conversion losses are not ours to refund.
If something has gone wrong
Raise it with us before raising it with your bank. A chargeback filed without telling us first costs both of us time and fees, and every problem we have had has been quicker to fix in a phone call.
