A strong product without the links to match

AmazingTalker connects students with tutors for language learning across many markets and languages. The product was strong, but in a highly competitive education niche the site lacked the high-quality, relevant backlinks it needed to compete in English-speaking search.

The brief was to build that authority through editorial placements and digital PR, supporting the site’s wider multilingual SEO, and never through low-value or bulk link building.

What we did, in three parts

Quality over quantity, in three decisions: where to be published, what to say there, and how to get it in front of the editor. Each part below sets out the problem and what we did about it.

Part 1 of 3

Publications chosen for trust, not volume

A link is only worth what search engines think of the site it sits on.

The problem

  • Bulk link building produces links that do not move rankings or authority
  • Links from low-value sites can send the wrong signals in a competitive niche

The solution

  • Established publications with an average Domain Rating of 58
  • Each placement judged on whether it would add to long-term authority
  • Business, finance and technology outlets such as Barchart, Digital Journal, The European Business Review and TechBullion
Part 2 of 3

Language learning, told for each publication’s readers

A tutoring marketplace is not news to a finance site, so every article needed an angle its readers would want.

The problem

  • Generic articles give editors no reason to publish
  • A link that does not fit the article reads as an advert, to readers and to search engines

The solution

  • Topic-driven articles that tie language learning to each outlet’s subject: financial English on Barchart, English and inflation on Digital Journal, online English education on The European Business Review, learning Spanish on TechBullion
  • Links placed in context, where they match what the reader is looking for, such as “language private tutors” in an article about financial English
Part 3 of 3

Editorial pitching, not mass outreach

How a placement is won decides where it lands.

The problem

  • Mass outreach is ignored by good publications, and accepted by the ones that sell links to anyone

The solution

  • Stories pitched to editors publication by publication
  • Digital PR and guest posts combined, so authority came from news and editorial sites alike
  • 50 editorial pieces published

Are your links moving your rankings?

We place brands in publications search engines already trust, with articles editors want to run.

The results

Fifty editorial placements across established publications through 2022, with an average Domain Rating of 58, each carrying a contextual link to AmazingTalker. Below are the numbers, then a selection of the articles themselves.

Digital Journal PR
Digital Journal: “Why is Learning English More Important in a Time of Inflation”.
The European Business Review PR
The European Business Review: “The Benefits of Online English Education for You & Your Kids”, in its Career and Learning section.
Techbullion Guest Post
TechBullion: “How Long Does it Take to Learn Spanish?”, a guest post.

What changed for the business

AmazingTalker now has fifty editorial links from publications search engines already trust, each in an article that makes sense for its readers. Links like these keep their value, because they sit on real pages that real readers visit, and they support every language version of the site, not only the English one.
