A new name that nobody knew yet

RoamSprout is a travel blog, founded in 2020 as Tripsterr, with guides to destinations, hotels, restaurants and things to do. In January 2025 it relaunched under a new name to give it a stronger identity in the travel niche.

A new name starts with no recognition and no search presence. The brief was to announce the rebrand across many media outlets at once, build search presence for the new name from day one, and keep it visible across news platforms during the transition, without leaving any of it to organic pickup.

What we did, in three parts

A launch in three steps: make the rebrand a story, put it in front of hundreds of outlets at once, and make sure the new name held its place in search. Each part below sets out the problem and what we did about it.

Part 1 of 3

The rebrand, written as news

A change of name is big news inside a company and none at all outside it.

The problem

  • A rebrand announcement on the company’s own site reaches only people who already know it
  • Waiting for journalists to pick the story up leaves the launch to chance

The solution

  • The move from Tripsterr to RoamSprout written as a press release, with a reason for readers to care
  • One consistent announcement, so every outlet told the same story about the new name
Part 2 of 3

Hundreds of outlets, all at once

Visibility during a rebrand has to arrive together, not trickle in.

The problem

  • A handful of placements disappears in the noise of a launch
  • Coverage spread over months does little for the day the new name goes live

The solution

  • Structured distribution to more than 300 outlets
  • National, business and regional news, including AP News, Benzinga, FOX2Now and FOX40
  • An audience of more than 2 million, and an estimated million views
Part 3 of 3

Search presence for the new name

People who heard about RoamSprout would search for it, and the results had to be there.

The problem

  • A brand-new name has no pages about it in search
  • The old name’s reputation does not carry over by itself

The solution

  • Coverage on high-authority sites, averaging a Domain Rating above 65, all carrying the new name
  • Consistent visibility across news platforms throughout the transition

Launching or rebranding?

We plan press campaigns that get a new name seen and searched for, from the first day.

The results

More than 300 editorial placements, an audience of over 2 million and an average Domain Rating above 65, all telling the same story about the new name. Below are the numbers, then a selection of the coverage itself.

What changed for the business

RoamSprout launched as a name people could find. Instead of a new brand with no footprint, it arrived with coverage across more than 300 outlets, from national news to regional and business sites, so anyone who heard the name and searched for it found a consistent story about who RoamSprout is.
