In February, a family in Columbus, Ohio, starts planning a July week in Orlando. Mom asks ChatGPT for a four-day itinerary. Dad searches "family resort near Disney with a lazy river." Neither of them is within 700 miles of your front door. Both of them are your customers.
Ask an Orlando SEO company about local search and you'll usually hear about map packs and reviews. That's half the job. Orlando welcomed a record 76.7 million visitors in 2025, and most domestic visitors came from out of state (Visit Orlando). Google's map pack leans hard on distance, and a phone in Columbus is nowhere near your I-Drive restaurant, so the businesses that win those searches win on organic relevance and authority.
The planning has moved into AI, too. In Skift's 2025 US Travel Tracker survey, 55% of travelers said they'd used AI tools to plan a trip, up from 38% a year earlier. If ChatGPT never names you, you weren't in the running.
Then there's the Orlando that lives here year-round. International migration drove 82% of the metro's 2025 population growth (Orlando Economic Partnership), and many of those new neighbors search in Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole. Build for one audience and you leave the other on the table.
